Resetting Your Password

If you've forgotten your password, you can reset it using your registered email address.

How to Reset Your Password​

From the Login Screen​

  1. Open DocSnap and tap Log In
  2. Tap Forgot Password?
  3. Enter your registered email address
  4. Tap Send Reset Link
  5. Check your email for a password reset link
  6. Tap the link to open the password reset form
  7. Enter your new password (minimum 8 characters)
  8. Tap Reset Password
  9. Log in with your new password

The password reset email contains a link that:

  • Opens DocSnap directly if you tap it on your phone
  • Shows a web form if you open it on a computer or tablet

Password reset links expire after 1 hour for security. If your link has expired, request a new one from the Forgot Password screen.

Security Measures​

  • Reset links are one-time use -- once used, the link becomes invalid
  • A new reset request invalidates any previous reset links
  • The reset request is rate-limited to prevent abuse
  • The confirmation message is always the same whether or not the email exists (to prevent email enumeration)

After Resetting​

After successfully resetting your password:

  • You'll need to log in with your new password
  • Biometric login will need to be re-enabled
  • Your documents and data are unaffected
  • Previously trusted devices remain trusted

Tips for a Strong Password​

  • Use at least 8 characters (longer is better)
  • Mix uppercase and lowercase letters
  • Include numbers and special characters
  • Don't reuse passwords from other services
  • Consider using a password manager
