  3. Results appear automatically as you type (with a brief delay for accuracy)
  4. Tap any result to open the full document detail

Search Features

Smart Matching

DocSnap uses intelligent text matching that understands word variations:

  • Searching for "shipping" also finds "ship", "shipped", "shipment"
  • Searching for "dallas" finds "Dallas" regardless of capitalization
  • Common words like "the", "a", "is" are automatically ignored

Relevance Scoring

Results are ranked by relevance. Documents where your search terms appear frequently or prominently are listed first. Each result shows a relevance score to help you identify the best match.

Text Snippets

Each search result includes a text snippet showing the portion of the document that matched your query. This helps you quickly identify the right document without opening each one.

Search Tips

Finding Specific Documents

  • Search by BOL number: BOL-2026-04521
  • Search by shipper name: Acme Manufacturing
  • Search by city or address: Dallas TX
  • Search by carrier: Werner Enterprises

Broad vs. Narrow Searches

  • Broad: freight -- returns many results
  • Narrow: freight bill dallas february -- returns fewer, more specific results

Multiple Terms

When you search for multiple words, results must contain all of them. Use this to narrow down results:

  • proof delivery -- finds all Proof of Delivery documents
  • BOL chicago dallas -- finds Bills of Lading for Chicago-to-Dallas routes

Search Scope

  • Search only covers your own documents -- you can't search other users' documents
  • Only completed documents with OCR results are searchable
  • Documents that are still processing or have failed won't appear in search results

iPad Layout

On iPad, search uses a split-view layout:

  • Left side -- search bar and results list
  • Right side -- document detail for the selected result

This lets you browse through multiple results without going back and forth.
