Sharing & Exporting Documents

DocSnap provides multiple ways to share your documents and export OCR results for use in other applications.

Accessing Share Options

  1. Open a completed document from the Documents tab
  2. Tap the share icon (square with arrow) in the top-right corner
  3. Choose from the available options

The share menu is only available for documents that have completed OCR processing.

Email Document

Send the original document file along with the OCR text directly to your registered email address.

  1. Tap Email Document from the share menu
  2. The document and OCR text are sent to your verified email
  3. A confirmation message appears: "Document sent to your email"

The email includes:

  • The original file as an attachment
  • A preview of the extracted OCR text in the email body

Share via AirDrop, Messages, etc.

Use the system share sheet to send your document via any iOS sharing method.

  1. Tap Share... from the share menu
  2. The iOS share sheet appears with options like:
    • AirDrop -- send to nearby Apple devices
    • Messages -- send via iMessage or SMS
    • Mail -- compose an email with the attachment
    • Save to Files -- save a copy to your Files app
    • Any other installed sharing apps

The share includes both the original file and the OCR text.

Export as Word Document

Export the OCR results as a Microsoft Word (.docx) file.

After tapping an export option, the file is generated and automatically opens in the default app on your device (e.g., Microsoft Word, Pages, or the document preview).

Export as Excel Spreadsheet

Export the OCR results as a Microsoft Excel (.xlsx) file.

This is useful for importing extracted data into spreadsheets for record-keeping or analysis.
